Breakfast and lunch are served in our café\, offering Chicken corn\, ham bean soups and vegetarian chili all prepared in our kitchen. Take out is available.\nSanta’s workshop will be open for children to create a craft and visit with Santa from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.\nA variety of craft vendors will fill multiple rooms throughout the church.

DESCRIPTION:Buttonwood Nature Center’s sixth annual Winter Solstice Celebration\, marking the longest night—or shortest day—of the year\, which falls on December 21 this year in the Northern Hemisphere. Since ancient times\, people all over the world have recognized this important astronomical occurrence and celebrated the “return of the sun” in a variety of ways. After the solstice\, the days get gradually longer. Join this family-friendly celebration of the season with storytelling\, hands-on solstice activities for children like making garlands of popcorn and berries and edible ornaments for animals\, live music\, fire-pit warming stations\, hot chocolate stations and vendors.\nMembers of the Tri-State Astronomers club will be on hand with telescopes to observe the winter skies. After sunset\, there will be opportunities to view the celestial features of the winter sky. The entire event is outdoors\, so dress accordingly. A former trial attorney\, Karen began her professional comedy career as a Finalist on Nickelodeon Television’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America.” Since then\, she has performed in comedy clubs and theaters from New York to Hollywood. Karen’s latest CD “Mean Candy” can be heard on Sirius XM Radio\, and her comedy specials can be seen on Dry Bar Comedy. Her TV appearances include comedy shows and ads for companies like Wal-Mart and Zyrtec. Karen’s clean shows in Performing Arts Centers around the country have made her a favorite among theater audiences! In addition to the comedy show\, we’ll be bringing back the pop-up shops featuring local vendors selling their amazing merchandise and sweet treats! Stay tuned as vendor announcements are made closer to the event day!\nDoors open at 5:30pm to give you time to check out each of the vendors\, with Karen taking the stage at 7pm. It’ll be a night full of shopping and laughter that you won’t want to miss!
