Described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “…an incredibly valuable addition to the cultural landscape” and “powerfully adept…with a combination of brilliance and subltety.” The Quartet has performed in concert halls, music festivals and academic institutions across the United States and abroad, including New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
Formed by members of Amsterdam’s famed Royal Concertgebouw (RCO), the Camerata RCO are musicians who perform chamber music in multiple formations from duet to small chamber orchestra, with a special focus on the Classical and Romantic repertoire for winds and strings. The ensemble has enjoyed tremendous success in the Netherlands and abroad, performing around 50 concerts a year internationally.
Gettysburg Community Concert Association presents Sophie Shao, with piano accompanist, to open the 79th GCCA Concert Season. Shao received an Avery Fisher Career Grant at age 19, was a major prizewinner at the 2001 Rostropovich Competition, and a laureate of the XII Tchaikovsky Competition in 2002. Ms. Shao plays an Honore Derazey cello previously owned by Pablo Casals.
The all brass ensemble is comprised of some of Washington DC’s top brass musicians whose members are proud to serve as musicians in the area’s premier military bands, performing for some of the highest profile officials and ceremonies from the Pope to the President. The Barclay Brass is a classical outfit comprised of trumpeters, trombonists, French hornists, euphonists and one tubist. Imagine all the thunder and authority of classical music, but without balancing strings and woodwinds.
Ship Talkers is a new Toastmasters club in Shippensburg. Toastmasters International is dedicated to public speaking and leadership development.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. All visitors are welcome to attend for free.
