Speakeasy Night

Step back in time with us as we bring back a very special Fundraiser for the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library of Waynesboro. It’s going to be a jazzy night of games, music, cocktails, and delicious food catered by Christine’s Cafe. Doors open 7pm Saturday, September 12th. Cocktail dress code – period attire optional.
Tickets are $75 each with a special Daisy Deal of $330 for groups of five. Visit the library or buy on our website https://www.ahmfl.org/ under “Speakeasy Night 2026.” Act now! Tickets are on sale until 9/7/2026.
In the 20’s the library belonged to the family of Alexander Hamilton (not the one on the $10 bill.) It remained in the family until his granddaughter bequeathed it to the Borough to be the town’s first permanent library. Today, the building is a vibrant library where we serve patrons from all over Franklin County and over the border in Maryland!
Want to keep it around for 100 more years? Buy your ticket to Speakeasy night today!
But what do you get with a ticket?
Drinks and catered food: Christine’s Cafe will be catering delicious hors d’oeuvres and serving mixed drinks at four different stations – each with their own theme. The library will also have a beer and wine bar, with beer provided by Michaux Brewing Co.
Live Music: Knock On Wood Marimba will kick off the night with live ragtime music.
Escape Room: Oh no! The party’s been busted by the fuzz. You and other guests are hiding in the office of an infamous mobster. Can you escape before the coppers break in or will you be hauled off in the paddy wagon.
Casino Themed Games: Play unique and fun casino inspired games – including a human slot machine! Win a game and get a ticket for a special raffle basket.
Bar Trivia: Prove you’re hep to flapper slang in a special speakeasy trivia game and win free books!
50/50 Raffle: Buy a card – any card – for $20 to enter into a special raffle. At the end of the night, the winner gets half the pot and the other half goes to the library.
Silent Auction: Bid on baskets of merchandise donated by local businesses such as Sugar Hollow Farms and the Vintage Flame. One basket will include a very special gift certificate from Adams County Winery for an eight person wine tour and tasting.
All proceeds go toward ensuring the library can continue to provide free resources and community events for patrons of all ages. We place a special emphasis on the 5 literacies of PA Forward: Financial, Health, Civic and Social, Information, and of course basic literacy. We hope to see you there old sport!
